About Us

Jack Faucett Associates, Inc. (JFA) is a pioneer in the field of economic research and public policy analysis. Founded in 1963, our firm provides consulting and research services to government and industry. We specialize in transportation, energy, the environment, economic development, and public sector management issues. We have successfully completed over 1,500 tasks on over 700 contracts. JFA is a small business, which ensures that senior officers are intimately involved in each phase of project execution. Our headquarters is located in Bethesda, Maryland, minutes away from downtown Washington D.C. We also have an office near Oakland, California to serve our West Coast clients.

Our Mission

Our mission is to create a more resilient, sustainable, and equitable world by bringing the best social science, transportation, economic, and applied humanities research to life through relationships of teamwork, learning, and entrepreneurship. We’re committed to providing thorough and objective research, analysis, and solutions to meet our clients’ needs.

Who We Are

We are experts in economics and public policy analysis. Our management and staff are composed of economists, statisticians, financial analysts and public policy practitioners who coordinate research with our cadre of technical experts in engineering and the physical and social sciences. Members of our core team have decades of experience in providing industry leading research and consulting services. While our core skill set lies in economic and public policy analysis, the breadth of our experience managing diverse teams of experts enables us to provide superior analysis on a wide range of issues.

Our teams have recently led six major NCHRP research projects, including new, more accessible and user-friendly publications and videos. Our Research & Development program is currently developing new tools and methodologies for applying big data to new ways of looking at urban safety. Our R&D team also includes doctorally trained historians working on new methodologies that incorporate evidence-based historical approaches and other applied humanities perspectives to more accurately diagnose and assess the legacy costs of past infrastructure decisions, where they are being born inequitably, and how to most effectively reduce and prevent those costs in the future.

History

JFA was founded by Jack Faucett. After pioneering the discipline of input-output modeling, as part of a team led by Nobel Laureate Wassily Leontief, Mr. Faucett founded JFA in 1963. JFA’s diversity of studies in the first few years included developing capital investment forecasting techniques for the National Economic Strength Model and documenting potential timber use in Appalachia. Since then, the diversity of our clients and successfully completed projects has grown exponentially. JFA has completed more than 1,500 tasks on over 700 contracts for all levels of government, industry, and the non-profit sector.
